Harley Davidson Exhaust?
Just bought a 2008 HD 1200 sportster. I don’t care for the stock exhaust and love the "Screaming Eagle II" that some of the neighbors run. However, they don’t make them any longer. Does anyone know of something sounding close to these. I am told the new "Screaming Eagle I" does not even compare. The "Python" is way too loud.
E-bay has several Screaming Eagle II for "Softtail". Does anyone know if these will work on my 2008 1200 Sportster. Called the dealer and they can’t seem to answer even when I provide the part number.
Yeah thanks to the EPA Harley quietened down their exhaust. A good slip-on that I have had good luck with at work are the Vance & Hines Straightshots HS Slip-ons. They are only $280 and have a great sound to them and have great quality. They are going to be similar to the Python (might as well be the same exhaust), just take care cruising in your neighborhood in the late/early hours and you should be fine. Most people have been ok changing out these pipes without doing any tuning to the motorcycle (enough tuning built in to the new fuel injection to handle it), but a Hi Flow Air Cleaner and some form of Tuning to rich-en up the bike will work wonders for that engine.
I do prefer the Thunderheader 2-1, but not everyone likes the look of them.
BURN MARK ON HARLEY CHROME EXHAUST?
we used to make our own, but modern day "bikers", can buy anything now. heck, you could even get someone to do the work, and all the tuning required. if only it were so easy for us back in the day, we would have to know how to keep them running on our own, and fix them if they broke down, and make our own parts. but not anymore i tell ya’, a phone call away, there’s someone there to do it all. you meet some of the nicest people on harleys

Personally, I would try to find some Big City Thunder baffles to fit your pipes, they give a nice crackling thunderish rumble when you use your compression to slow you down.

Also,.. I bought my S/E slip ons from these guys. Got what I felt like was a good deal. The ones on this page says they will fit all sportsters ‘06 to present including EFI p/n 80416-06.
