BURN MARK ON HARLEY CHROME EXHAUST?

hi all.
ok so i have a burn mark of some sort on my exhaust (chrome)
i think its where the NYLON cover was put on when the pipes were still too hot.

i use autosol to polish my chrome… and have tried autoglym… but it wont come off!!!
i have thought of a brillo pad but that would scratch it surely???
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
need it off by tomorrow afternoon lol!!!

i live in uk… so needs to b something i can buy here.

I know this sounds wierd for a Harley…BUT….
Find a local HONDA motorcycle dealer. Go in and ask for a can of Honda Spray Polish and Cleaner.
Spray it on heavily and let sit sit for about 30 minutes or so. Spray some more on a soft cloth and then using some force, scrub off the melt mark.

I have been working on Harleys for about 20 years, my brother has worked for Honda for over 10 years and turned me on to the Honda Polish a long time ago. It is amazing how well this stuff works.
It’s the only polish I use on my HD’s. Safe for all surfaces and leaves a great shine.

If i install Rinehart exhaust on my Harley Ultra Classic 2003 do i need to do settings to the engine?

  1. Try a finishing polish, with a very fine grit, to remove the plastic residue, using a soft cloth and circular motion. Follow with a chrome polish.

  2. if you pour petrol over the whole exhaust and light it, then nobody will notice the little burn mark

  3. I’m not sure if they sell SOS pads there, but they’re steel wool pads, with soap infused in them. First step, start your bike up, and let it warm up some. (not for an hour…just for a few minutes) Get the pipe warm. Them get a heavy pair of leather works gloves, and a bucket of hot water. Get the pad wet, and gently rub at the spot where the nylon is melted on. With a bit of patience and elbow grease, it should come out looking as good as new.

  4. Easy off oven cleaner. Heard it works. I’ve used Col. Brassy polish to take melted rubber from boots off of my exhaust.
