I can’t find the O/D of the exhaust pipe for this bike anywhere… can anyone help? Thanks!
What part of the pipe? motor end - middle or exit? Go get some callipers and a rule - measure it and you have your answer.
from one and a half inches to two and a half inches
It all depends on the amount of flow, or more specifically, the lack of back pressure in the new pipes. Generally speaking, if you change anything involving air and the motor, ie exhaust pipes, intake, filter, etc, you need to adjust the computer or re jet the carbs. It is highly recommended that you alter the intake to make it more free flow and to adjust the computer.
Just bought a carbon can company exhaust from ebay for my 600 bandit. Have removed original exhaust but am having trouble fitting new one. Any instructions?
Where is the trouble on the fitment? Is the can a slip-on or designed to work with a full system only? Slip-ons usually have a spring that connects the mid-pipe to the can. I have a 2003 1200S, but I’m not that familiar with the 600s.
I’m guessing the can did not come with any instructions? It’s possible they listed the can being for the wrong year. I’ll send you a link to a Bandit forum I belong to. Should be able to find the answer there (and gret group of people as well).
the other morning my brothers TS50 wouldn’t start, when we tried to bump it the back wheel locked up so we assumed the piston had seized. on stripping down the engine we discovered that the cylinder and exhaust was full of fuel. what could cause this and how can we prevent it. please help if you can thanks paul
yes it was a stuck carburettor float/needle valve
most obvious would be a crankcase that got over filled
You could always measure it yourself.
I am looking for a first hand account or performance data. The bike is a 2005 Suzuki Bandit 1200.
here is a link for some sounds as far as performance gains expect about 3-7 hp with a slip on . If i was spending my money i would go with the arata then the leo vince, akrapovic, arrow, two brothers
pick the one you like the best but remember yoshi is old school
I would think the pipes get too hot to have the bags sit on them
Thanks everyone, The reason I asked is that I swore I have seen bags on pipes, and just wanted make sure .
they must be a least 1 inch clearance between pipe and bags. i use willy and max bags jumbo slant bags and they fit fine. volusia/c50 and m50 are basically the same. also check out volusiariders.com
you can look at hundreds of pics of m50 c50 etc and look through the forums to see what bags everybody is running.
It is the silencer, not the pipe, that makes it quiet. FMF Q4 series spark arrestor silencer is quieter than stock and will make more power. Supertrapp makes some that are quieter and give more power too.
