I have a 2001 HD Road King. What are the pros & cons on 2 into 1exhaust , compaired to True Dual Exhaust? Does it increase torque, horse power?? Experienced replies encouraged.
The 2-1 exhausts like the Thunderheader or the Hooker Header produce the most H.P. of the pipes available. Both torque and H.P. are increased. I run the Hooker because it has a feature that is pretty cool, adjustable back pressure. What this does is allow you to tailor the tuning to the way you ride. P.S keep in mind you’ll need to play with jetting/ computor to adjust the fuel mixture to match the pipe.

i dont have 350$ for a new aftermarket exhuast for my bike, is there anything i can do other than buy a new exhaust? my friend told me to remove the baffles in it? i know nothing about exhaust’s so i really dont know if that would help or hinder my bike.
Don’t remove the baffles. That’s almost like sticking a pipe through a catalytic converter except you wont get that honey comb stuff it will be metal and your create more of a restriction. Wait until you can buy a new exhaust. or just take your muffler out and put in straight pipe. lol. Good luck

My son has a TZR which needs some tlc - seen an exhaust but owner does not know if it will fit the tzr or not. Don’t want to waste my money.
no it won’t fit what so ever cos the ybr is a 4 stroke and tzr is a 2 stroke. both are completely different bikes., the ybr is a commuter and the tzr is a sports bike. not even worth wasting your time to try to make it fit the bik as the tzr exits straight from the front of the bike and the ybr exits slightly to the side of the engine. just buy a tzr exhaust

Hi,
I have a 07 v star 650 and i have bought the vance hines Short Shots Exhaust i have not put them on yet some people say i should re-jet and others say it may be ok but if i don’t will it hurt the engine? or just run bad
Thanks
Matt
Best bet I’d to go to Vance & Hines web site. I think that they will recommend you buy a fuel/ignition management system if it is injected [like Cobra or Dyna] and if it is carburated that you buy an ignition management system. You do not even have any jets if it is injected. Jets are only in carburetors. If you have a carburetor you might need new jets if the bike comes that drastically detuned from the factory. You will need jets 1 size bigger. Wait and see after you get the pipes/ignition set up installed. If the engined is starving, running hot, you need the jets. Harley’s come very detuned from the factory in order for them to meet emission standards. That’s one reason everyone pipes Harley’s.

I recently received a ’severe first degree burn’ from a Motorcycle Exhaust Pipe. Last night my blister was ripped open and now the under skin is exposed and stinging like mad. Should I cover it, leave it open, put anything on it?
Really you should go to the hospital to get it cleaned and dressed properly to prevent any infection.

I started to listen to a song on the radio (classic rock genre) and a song came on. For various reasons, I couldn’t listen to the song. But it started with only a drummer drumming what sounded to be a hot rod or a Harley engine. (you know, the real deep "potato potato potato" exhaust). I had heard the song before, meant to remember it b/c I liked it, then forgot.
I know this is really vague and kind of oddly detailed, but any ideas let me know. Thanks!
It is more than likely "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen

I went with the Yoshi for my 636. It’s not obnoxiously loud but it has a nice deep rumble.

I have a 1994 Yamaha FZR 1000 with low miles, a D&D complete exhaust, power commander (vance & hines), jets and a K&N filter. My friend is buying a stock 2000 Yamaha R6. He says his 600 will smoke my "old" 1000. Even though I have more power, his is lighter. How much of a difference does the weight make. We’re talking maybe 100lbs. Anybody know which will be faster?
Yeah, the guy with the SV650 must be joking. Im running more than double the horsepower of his bike. Also, the FZR should take the R6 top speed, i dont think my friend is dening that. Stock they would do about 170ish.
He may beat you off the line, but the powers of your bike will be greater than his. More than likely if you know how to ride it you wouldnt be "smoked". If you have ever heard of a show called PINKS on speedvision, they had a race very similar to this and the "old" bike won.

I have shotgun exhaust pipes on my motorcycle, while I was riding in the rain, my rear tire slipped out from underneath me, I was able to control the bike, however, a section a my lower pipe received some pretty good scratches. Anyone have any cost efficient repair tips?
There’s a product called "Mothers" you can purchase this at Shucks and probably other automotive places..Shines and buffs out scratches in chrome.
