Which after market exhaust will give the loudest and best performance for a ‘06 Harley FLSTN?

LOUDEST DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE BEST PERFORMANCE ON ANY MACHINE BESIDES YOU WILL HAVE TO INSTALL A POWERCOMMANDER WITH THE INSTALLATION OF ANY AFTERMARKET EXHAUST SYSTEM ON A HARLEY WITH EFI

06 Suzuki Boulevard Exhaust?

Does anyone know what exahust sounds good on a 06 c50. i want a little more noise/ rumble. also what modifications will need to be done if i change the exhaust ?

I have an Intruder VS800 which is an earlier version of your bike.

It has Jardine pipes. Sounds good. Don’t forget to re-jet.

The Intruder Alert Forum is a good source of information on this.

Where can i find a exhaust for my 97 yamaha rt100 dirtbike?

Harley Davidson Nightster?

I have a 2008 harley davidson nightster i want to debaffle it does it make it sound better or not a big difference, oh and how do i do it? They said drilling a 3/8 hole or even a 1/2 hole makes it sound good, sorry just have to save to get my actual vance and hines exhaust. thanks for the input.

OK, I’ll do it again….

Be warned, both of these will affect your performance.
The complete baffle removal will drop your bottom end response noticeably.

You will need to remove the mufflers.
With a hole saw that just barely fits inside the end of the outer case, cut the baffle where it joins the case at the outlet end.
You may also use a Dremel or die grinder with a carbide burr.
Remove all sharp edges.
From the inlet end, push the baffle out. They are friction fit at the inlet, held in place by a rolled edge at the outlet (where you cut it free).

The other option, good sound, and retains some back pressure:
Remove the mufflers.
From the inlet end, insert a piece of 1/2" black iron pipe.
With a large hammer, whale it through the center plate in the baffle.
Drive the pipe completely through and out the other end.

With either method, you will want to re-tune. Even if you don’t need to.
Chances are you will. You just changed the airflow through the engine, and may need more fuel to compensate.

You best bet would be to wait for your pipes (and tuner).

what material can be placed between my leg and a motorcycle exhaust pipe to prevent leg burns?

I see alot of off-the-wall answers to an off-the-wall question!!!!

As others asked….why are you resting your leg on the pipe???

Why not just wrap the pipes instead of your leg………

THE answer to your question is………HEADER WRAP……. not only does it protect you from the heat…it will also give you better performance….

Will it hurt engine performance if I remove the baffles from my motorcycle exhaust?

Yes. You loose backpressure that the engineers at the factory designed into your bike.

This will actually make your low RPM power worse, and might make the bike run lean.

And your neighbors will hate you too.

What is the deal with the loud exhaust double standard?

I got pulled over and received a ticket for "muffler exceeding noise limits" violation. My question is: why is ok for a freakin’ Harley motorcycle to have an exhaust that shakes the neighborhood and not a passenger vehicle that has been modified just a little bit that is bearly louder than stock?

i agree 100% with you. those motorcycles are so loud. stupid law

2004 suzuki rm250 flywheel weight/ exhaust/ oil?

i have a 2004 suzuki rm250. i heard that a flywheel weight will make it less likely to foul the spark plug is this true? also i heard it gives them more low end power. im sold at the less spark plug fouling. i hope its true. if so were and what size would be good. im not using for hardcore racing. just for trail riding and pinning it on straits. but im not as much concerned about power. what weight would make it foul spark plugs less. and also were would i get one and how much would it cost. also does it make your bike harder to kickstart because its allready a killer. i cant be spending 200 bucks on this. and what exhaust would be best for it but it cant be to much louder than stock. and what oil will make it last longest, im running maxima k2. and what ratio would be best im running 32:1 now. and good links to how to jet or tune the carb(with diagrams).

From what you describe( trail riding etc) I think you may be riding the bike at slower engine speeds than it was designed for.

The first answer here is right on about jetting. I have owned RM250s and typically the pilot( slow speed jet) is one step too rich for near sea level riding( for example if it has a#50, then try a #45). Conversely, I have found the needle, and needle jet to be very close-as is the main jet.

A 250cc two stroke should be revved-keeping it at engine speeds using the needle jet and main jet circuitry. First, when you start the bike next time, warm the engine until you can feel some heat on the head, then slowly ride through 1st and2nd at moderate engine speeds. By now your engine should be warm. Put it un neutral and hold the throttle open to about 3/4 to 7/8-varying, then vary from 7/8 to wide open. I’ll bet it will blow out some smoke and junk-this is "blowing out" your engine.

Then if it still fouls plugs at your riding speed-get one step smaller pilot jet. This affects just off idle to about 1/4 throttle. The Needle and Needle jet affect about 1/4 to 3/4 throttle-the main jet take over at about 3/4 to full throttle. look up Sudco Mikuni carbs-they have some general guides to jetting which are applicable to most concentric carbs. You may also want to gear the bike down, by reducing teeth on the countershaft sprocket or adding teeth on the rear sprocket. If you find that you can’t adjust back to stock gearing after getting used to the bike, make sure the permanent gearing change is the rear. This will help the bike be more responsive off the bottom end.

Once you are jetted tight, and gearing is correct for your riding-then decide if you want a flywheel weight. As for the exhaust, the stock one is fine-typically an fatermarket system will smooth out the power some, though a few years back FMF had some advertised "tourque" pipes.

32:1 is fine on a 250, in fact I believe it is what Suzuki recommends . K2 is a synthetic ol and is fine. I personally run castor in my vintage air cooled two stroke for the ultimate protection, but with your power valved engine I think it would run too dirty.

Be sure to not keep old gas in your bike especially if using pump gas( which is fine for your riding) as today’s pump gas breaks down more quickly, and has a lot of crap in it that will discolor you tank if left in too long. I would use fresh gas mix if it was over a month old personally. Hope this helps.

when i start my yamaha blaster it has black smoke coming from exhaust and then dies.?

It sounds like a foreign object is in your exhaust pipe or you fuel ratio or air/fuel mixture is wrong.

Concerns performance of a 2007 HD Softail Deluxe?

Purchased new as 96 inch with six speed. I already have a 2007 screaming eagle 110 ince, but I wanted to make a retro style ride. I striped everything off, punched to 103 inch, put same cam as the eagle, did all the old style lights, leather, so forth, added race tuner so it could be set up on dyno. Then but set of true duals Vance-Hynes exhaust system with O2 sensors, broke it in properly, and off to the dyno shop. After hours of tuning, the end result is a beautiful bike that is a dog. I have been told by many that the 103 set up should be hot - close to my 110- this bike would not out run a stock 96 inch Bagger and the gas milage dropped to 34 at the best - got 24K miles on it this year, so it shoud be loose. My only idea is that the true dules are too restrictive to allow the motor to breath properly - lame? Anybody got any ideas or have experienced this problem or whoul like to comment on what level of performance that should be expected from the set up describied above - am running stock heads. Thanks in advance -

who set up your map? so many people convince themselves that these engines run too lean and the rear cyl runs too hot…. it’s all bs, hd hasn’t been in business for 105 years by guessing. i’d bet you’re set up too rich, try leaning things back out and check it on the dyno again

did you plug the breather or do a proper crossover… that could be another thing to check if you altered the a/c, which if you haven’t swapped the a/c, that’ll cost you some power too, maybe a heavy breather cold air induction would fit with your look
